I am back! And this time, I am calling out to all the young ladies out there who dare to learn and master the art of wisdom. Before as you all should know, school would only admit male students in. This idea was not very appealing to us, yet we had no choice but to accept. Listen up for some great news!
I had just been informed that girls are being welcomed into state-financed primary schools! You may wonder why girls are being admited in. It is said that some government officials believe it is important to personal and social improvement. So for those of you who had always dreamt of learning, this is your chance! Follow your passions and apply to school! Yes, it is true that girls get a lesser education than boys, but I believe something is definitely better than nothing at all.
If interested in applying for school, here's some key points that might be useful:
1. Sexes are usually always separated from each other.
2. Girls do not learn math or science.
3. Girls tend to be taught sewing, washing, ironing, and cooking.
4. Schools stress hard work, thrift, sobriety, discipline, spruceness, and respect for family.
Please don't be discouraged that we learn less subjects from the boys. It is meant this way. Women should always be conscious of inferiority. Remember, men view weakness as something attractive. They frown upon audacity and women who are self-spoken. There is, indeed, something unfeminine in independence.
So girls, please attend this wonderful opportunity! If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to comment on this post!
SANFORD OUT
I fully support your beliefs!!!! With a similar mind set as you I have strived and succeeded in becoming the first woman to attend a university in my home country. It is a glorious new world we live in - always progressing. And oh such progress it has made! I look forward to the future.

Mrs. Sanford,
ReplyDeleteMay I be the first (or the second, since Ms. Jacobs has beaten me in commenting on this post) to thank you for the amazing work you have done. I am proud to see that little girls are able to get education. I am tired to see the struggle of girls who want to learn and have to do so just by sneaking into their father's library and reading any book they can get their hands onto. I am fortunate enough to have a father as understanding to believe that I am as equal as a boy when it comes to education.
I beg of you to mention to your older girls, who are still willing to learn about our world, to go to Newham College. My dear friend, Anne Clough, and I have worked hard to get it set up and it offers the best courses for women, including mathematics and science.
I hope to see more progress in the future and if you are in need of any help, please do not be afraid to write. I am ready at any moment to help. I do travel all around England, talking to the people.
Yours etc.

I am happy that you enjoy the Education Act I passed. I hope that education can proliferate. I am glad to know that you have encouraged women to take advantage of women being allowed to take positions in the school board.
