EXTRA! EXTRA! : The Happy Woman? Not Even!

My fellow European women! How are you lately? Well never mind that, I'm here to discuss the ideas of the "new woman" in our middle class society. Now I know I advocate women as the lesser sex and all, but the concept of us being the caring mother and wife isn't some easy task we can just take on! We already have so much on our hands. The caring of the household, the children, the cooking, the cleaning, that, my fellow ladies, that is all US! And what I absolutely loathe is how men are covering up our hard work by making us act as an "idle" wife. This is no easy task! We strain ourselves to the limit and this is what we get in return? False identity?! My husband, thankfully, knows I appreciate the hard-earned money he makes out there. Therefore, I don't have to put on a show of maintaing HIS status. But my other fellow female companions...they are the ones suffering.

I know what you all may be thinking. "Wow, this lady is a hypocrite." "Wasn't she the one who wanted us to let out our opinions in an unassuming manner?" Yes, those were my words and thoughts. But, I feel this situation had really just gone too far. My poor friends...they're in agony right now. They constantly have to work hard to keep the appearance of a well kept household with no reward. Nothing.

Everyone out there: I would like your opinions. What do you think of this? Do you think I'm being rational? Reply to me to tell me your opinions! I'm always open for a discussion. :)

  1. Hello there Elizabeth! Although I understand that our daily chores at home are a difficult task for us, but there are so many other things women can accomplish in this world. It's a pity that so many women believe their position is solely in their house. As a social reformer myself, I advocate the idea of women expressing their own ideas. In order to diminish the idea of the inferiority of women to men, we, as women, must take responsibility and start contributing to society. By making money and changing the way society is ourselves, the men will have nothing to blame us for.

  2. Elizabeth, I am so glad you are speaking out to the problems of society against women. One of the reasons why I didn't want to get married is because I didn't want to be confined in a house. It is sad that women think that they have to maintain their household to keep up to their husband's status. They work hard just to keep their house clean. I think women should be out exploring whatever they desire.
